About Gordon Goff
Inspired by his own creative streak and fascination with visual literature, founder Gordon Goff established GOFF BOOKS so that all types of book appreciators are able indulge in the satisfying pleasure that comes with visually compelling stories.
Gordon grew up and thrived in the artistic ambiance of the San Francisco Bay Area. As a young boy, he studied in France, living in Paris, Ramatuelle, and Chambon sur Lignon, where he attended the international school, "Le College Cevenol." The opportunity and exposure of his international lifestyle fueled his passion for the fine arts, and Gordon spent his high school years in Laguna Beach, CA, developing his musical repertoire, instrumental in scoring and choreographing original music and dance performances with a troupe of 30 dancers and musicians.
After attending UCLA with a major in music and dance, and winning the coveted Frank Sinatra Award for Arranging and Composing, Gordon began a career in the Los Angeles studio scene as a woodwinds player. Seeking new challenges, he took a break from music to venture back up to the Bay Area, getting married and eventually raising four children in Marin County. In 1986, he founded Palace Press International with his younger brother Raoul Goff, discovering a new creative outlet in the form of high-quality book production, printing and book publishing.
Palace Press International went on to become an internationally renowned printer and book packager, servicing top-tier publishing houses globally. Following the success of Palace Press International, Gordon played an instrumental role in establishing Mandala Publishing, Insight Editions, and Earth Aware Publishing, all three of which continue to thrive today.
Passionate about perfecting the book design process, seeking out unique, innovative content, and presenting a visual feast with each publication, Gordon created the ORO Group in 2003, which has successfully developed imprints ORO Editions, and more recently Applied Research + Design Publishing and GOFF BOOKS.
Never one to abandon his passion for artistic expression, Gordon continues to play and perform classical and jazz music, and is always looking for a good jam session.
